In the year 2000, brothers Hartmut and Ralf Kretzschmar founded the Paresis Production Auction, alongside advisor Kiep Lepen.Hartmut Kretzschmar’s motivation and dream for this auction was to provide an auction in the central North of Namibia, so that producers could adequately buy top quality bulls.His idea was to invite breeders who represent the most popular breeds and thus make a variety of genetics available to the Namibian market.Indubitably, Hartmut Kretzschmar invited selected breeders of specific cattle breeds to become part of the Paresis Production Auction.

The vision of this auction is to be able to provide buyers from the central north with good quality bulls of different breeds.Paresis Breeders’ Group has its own identity. We are independent of the auction agent (Agra), and for this reason we only market cattle of the Breeders’ Group. To us, it is significant to provide a highly marketed platform to our breeders but also satisfaction to our buyers.

We all know the feeling of excitement and trepidation when buying animals at an auction. There is always the niggling question: is this bull right for my herd? What about these heifers – will they supply the meat and milk qualities I need? In reality, buyers can relax. Agra Stud Services have seen to the selection, screening and fertility tests. They have compiled the auction catalogue with all the data and are ready to help with advice, acting as link between the buyers and breeders. All that remains is for a farmer to come and look at the animals, ask his remaining questions and put in a bid.
